Senior Drug and Alcohol Practitioner

Elaine has worked with clients with substance misuse for the past 12 years. Prior to this Elaine had 10 years experience working with high risk victims of domestic violence and is a qualified IDVA.

Drug and Alcohol Practitioner

Zoe is a qualified counsellor and has previous experience working in addiction. Zoe joined the Hawkspring team in 2022.

“The whole family and client centred approach we have is so unique and makes the work we do so impactful. I love meeting clients, learning about their experiences, needs and circumstances, and working with them to find solutions for lasting change.”

Gemma has been working as a Drug and Alcohol Practitioner at Hawkspring since 2022.

Senior CABS Practitioner

Jane has 20 years experience working as a counsellor in school settings, in private practice and working in social care settings. Jane joined the Hawkspring team in early 2013.

“I really enjoy my role at Hawkspring. The children I see always inspire me with their intelligence, wisdom, grace and creativity. I find it an honour to work with them.”


CABS Practitioner

Caroline joined Hawkspring in 2022 as a CABS practitioner. 

“My role allows me to therapeutically support children and young people who are affected by familial substance misuse.  Working within such a dedicated team and being able to contribute to the work that the charity does across the city, is extremely rewarding.”

Richard joined the team in 2022 and has broad experience across the charity sector.  Richard has a strong focus on delivering trauma informed care to children experiencing early adversity.

“It’s a privilege working within a close-knit team supporting families within the local community. I find it especially rewarding delivering creative sessions in schools with inspiringly resilient children.”

Chief Executive Officer

Chloe has worked within the charity and social care sectors for many years and joined the Hawkspring Team in 2019.

Fundraising and Operations Manager

Hannah joined Hawkspring in January 2023, having worked in the charity sector in Bristol since 2014.  Previous to this, Hannah completed a law degree and worked in the legal sector.  

“I really enjoy working with the Hawkspring team, the inspiring work that they do, and their dedication and expertise, makes my job telling the funders about it much easier.”


Finance Officer

Sue has worked as the Finance Officer at Hawkspring since 2005.  

“I hope that my work enables the other members of staff to carry out important work in my local community.”




Abbie has been volunteering at Hawkspring since 2023. She is an artist and has worked as an administrator. Abbie co-facilitates groups and has used her artistic passion to help design our Creative Connections Group.

Trustee - Chair

Katie is a researcher, specialising in social policy. Katie is Research Lead at the National Housing Federation.

Trustee - Deputy Chair

Terry has been a Trustee of Hawkspring for ten years. He has used his career background in Human Resources to give advice and guidance on people management issues.

Trustee – Treasurer

Mark has a background in finance and was a Bristol City Counsellor for many years. 



Pat has 33 years experience working for social services, and 23 of those years were spent in management, before retiring in 2013. 


Trustee - Designated Safeguarding Lead

Louise is a Family Link Worker and Deputy DSL at a local primary school.

“I’m passionate about supporting families affected by substance misuse. I believe it is important for young people to have the opportunity to explore their experiences within a therapeutic setting. I feel this service and all the Hawkspring services are essential for the community.”



Derek was a Bristol City Counsellor for many years.
